Bridging science, animal health and responsibility.

We drive progress by bridging the gap between nature’s own potential and scientific innovation. Our expertise is rooted in the synergy that comes from unlocking the bioactive power of lignin, pioneering animal health solutions, and advancing circular systems.

Lignin

We utilize advanced extraction to transform lignin, the natural polymer behind plant’s protection and strength, into high-performance bioactive compounds. This allows us to harness natural resilience for superior animal health.

Animal health

We focus on proactive, science-backed solutions. By addressing root causes of biological imbalance, we deliver interventions that optimize welfare and long-term performance.

Circularity

We are committed to a regenerative cycle. By upcycling lignin, we turn agricultural byproducts into high-value assets, ensuring our processes are resource-efficient and environmentally responsible.

Unlocking the bioactive power of lignin

Lignin is a complex, resilient polymer found in the cell walls of plants, offering unique biological qualities that make it a powerful tool for animal health. Its natural antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and prebiotic properties allow it to act as a stabilizer for the gut microbiome, helping to modulate immune responses and strengthen intestinal integrity.

When precisely processed and unlocked, these bioactive qualities enable lignin to support animals during periods of stress, enhance nutrient absorption, and promote overall resilience without the need for synthetic alternatives.

Our specialists have long term experience with our ingredients and can support the formulation of new products or adjust existing formulations.

Dr. Antonio Campos Mendoza

Dr. Campos is a leading expert in aquatic reproduction, genetics, and fish health, with a PhD from the University of Stirling (UK) and a long-standing academic post at UMSNH in Michoacán, Mexico. He has authored over 30 scientific papers, led 30+ research projects, and trained more than 25 students at undergraduate and graduate levels.

A founding member of Red Tilapia México and a key advisor to national aquaculture programs, his work has had a lasting impact on tilapia production in Mexico and beyond. We’re thrilled to have Dr. Campos bring his deep scientific knowledge and practical experience to support the continued success and innovation of Digextra Aqua.

Alexander H. Verstralen BSc Marine Science

Alexander Verstralen grew up moving around the world living in Oman, Australia, Russia and Scotland. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marine science from the Scottish association for marine science in 2020 with a focus on salmon farming in western Scotland.

After working in Jamaica, Mexico and Croatia as a marine biologist/scuba diving instructor, he started working with a number of Swiss companies consulting on projects involving sturgeon as well as salmonid species, for several large companies.

Currently he works for Phytaxis in Mexico developing Digextra Aqua in the LATAM market.
